Twitter has been expanding the customer service side of its product, with recent additions including a Customer Service settings page for businesses. This should all feel pretty familiar from other websites and customer service interactions, but it could help businesses collect customer information and route requests properly, which in turn could make them more efficient at providing support on Twitter. In a company blog post , Twitter Product Manager Ian Cairns said:Besides Evernote, brands that are already using welcome message and quick replies include Pizza Hut, Airbnb and Spotify. Twitter says businesses can also access these new features through third-party software like Lithium and Sprout Social. When quick replies and welcome messages are used together, businesses can reduce wait times and educate people on the best ways to interact with them.
"While we're a company that makes and sells cars, at the same time we're a developer of mobility services," Tomoyama said. Among the features of the Smart Key Box technology to be piloted with Getaround is the ability to control doors and start engines via a smartphone, Toyota said. TOKYO: Toyota Motor Corp will pilot its new Smart Key Box technology in fleets used by U.S. car-sharing service Getaround next year, stepping up its push to benefit from new mobility services seen by some as a threat to traditional car ownership. U.S. rivals Ford and General Motors have also invested further in mobility technology through tie-ups this year with Amazon and IBM respectively to develop sophisticated on-demand and artificial intelligence-based services in their cars. Toyota's investment follows similar moves this year by rivals including General Motors and Volkswagen as global automakers adapt to the changing face of the sector.

Like many of its rivals, Toyota is also getting into the car sharing game. The Japanese giant has announced that it’s going to start testing a new keyless car sharing system in 2017 which will enable users to unlock and start the cars with just their smartphones. The way it will work is that users will get codes to access the smart key box inside the cars that are part of the car sharing program. Toyota has teamed up with Getaround for this test which will kick off in San Francisco in January next year. The Smart Key Box is going to play an instrumental role in this keyless car sharing program as it will eliminate the need for users to have access to a physical key in order to unlock and start the car.

These types of preferences are not uncommon, but are a concession by the company — Wish wouldn’t offer these terms if it didn’t think it was necessary to raise these funds. The company has reportedly previously raised close to $600 million and been valued at $3 billion or more by investors. That means if Wish sells for less than it’s valued in this round, the latest investors will get all of their investment back before any earlier investors see a penny. According to the Oct. 24 filing for its parent company ContextLogic, the company has authorised new shares to be sold, although the size of the round, investors, and valuation are not disclosed. A provision in the Delaware filing cites that investors in the current get special liquidation preferences.
The Uber Freight marketplace has soft-launched and is working with a handful of shippers and carriers over the next few months before officially launching early next year. The first product from Uber Freight is a marketplace to connect a shipper with a truck, much like the Uber app connects drivers and riders today. The plan builds on Uber’s July acquisition of Otto, a self-driving trucking company that Uber bought for $65 million. To start, the Uber Freight marketplace will eliminate that middle man and offer shippers real-time pricing of what it will cost to move their goods based on supply and demand. Berdinis is betting that Uber’s intellectual property and worldwide operations team will make Uber Freight the winner in the “Uber for trucking” space.

There are a lot of terrific apps in the Windows Store from software developers you've never heard of before.
Those plans have accelerated, and in the four months since it was acquired by Uber, the company has already soft-launched its new trucking business, Uber Freight. How it fits into the big picture at UberIf Uber Freight is successful at making the "Uber for trucking," it could serve as a gateway for autonomous vehicles.
